College of Management

As the former Department of Political Education, College of Management was established in 1953, and is one of the earliest departments of our university. It was renamed to Department of Politics and Law in June 1993, Department of Political Economy in September 1995 and College of Economy and Management in April 2003. In December 2006, through integration of management discipline by the university, the management discipline of College of Economy and Management, the labor and social security of College of Sociology and the College of Human Resource Development and Management Science had been combined to form the College of Management.

The college has two departments like Business Administration and Public Administration, one basic subject research department, three research centers including Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration and Public Administration, four research institutes like Enterprise Operation and Management, Market Survey and Consultation, Administrative Reform and Government Management and Social Welfare, etc.; and there is also Books and Materials Center with 13000 various professional books and 140 categories of periodicals and magazines.

The college has a teacher team with strong teaching and research strength and reasonable structure of professional title, educational level and age. There are 42 teaching staffs with 32 full-time teachers, of which, 9 are professors, 12 are associate processors, 8 are lecturers and 3 are teaching assistants, and there are 16 doctors (including the one who is studying the doctor’s courses) and 9 masters.

Four undergraduate specialties like administrative management, marketing, human resource management and labor and social security are offered at the college. Of which, public utility management is newly added in administrative management, and two training directions including newspapers and periodicals issue and media operation are newly added in marketing program. Now there are more than 700 full-time undergraduates in the college.

The college has first-class subject master’s degree program in public administration, and six second-class subject master’s degree programs in management science and engineering, social security, business administration, administrative management, social medicine and health service management and management of land resources. Now there are more than 50 full-time postgraduates in the college.
