Ⅰ. History and Development
Founded in 1996, the history of theComputer and Math Teaching Department (CMTD) was previouslythe Computer Centre. Currently.The CMTD encompasses the Computer Teaching and Research Section, Mathematics Teaching and Research Department and Laboratory Section, undertaking the teaching of computer application courses and common mathematics courses for non-professional undergraduates. Additionally, the CMTD offers computer related technological consultation and services to some faculties, and computer related practice as well.
The Liaoning Provincial Audio-visual Education Centre (LPAEC) was founded in 1990 mainly to support, to lead and serve the basic education informatization in Liaoning Province. The centre, locating in Shenyang Normal University (SNU), is directly under the administration and supervision of the Education Department of Liaoning Province, and guided by the National Audiovisual Education Centre. There are several subordinate departments, such as the departments of: Development Planning, Training,Basic Education Teaching and Research, Project, Basic Education Resources and others.
In March 2019, the centre was administratively united with the CMTD in handling daily work.

II． Faculty and Students
Currently, theCMTD has a staff of 41, among whom 5 have a doctorate, 22 are professors and associate professors, 2 have overseas academic experience and7 graduate instructors at the university level.
III. Academic Research
As of now, the CMTD faculty members have published over 10 academic monographs, over 20 textbooks and over 20 research papers in Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI) and Science Citation Index (SCI). They have been awarded 3 Provincial Government Awards. Today, the CMTD is the research base of Liaoning basic education informatization, the construction unit of Liaoning Basic Education Informatization Research Centre (think tank of Provincial Higher Education Institutions), and the leading unit in Innovation Maker Education Alliance of Liaoning Basic Education.
