Our school's Museum of Paleontology is dedicated to creating a feast of ancient creatures spanning billions of years during the National Day and Mid Autumn Festival holidays
During the National Day and Mid Autumn Festival holiday in 2025, in order to actively implement the spirit of the provincial and municipal cultural and tourism departments delaying the opening of the museum and further meet the visiting needs of the audience, our school's Paleontology Museum has carefully organized multiple exciting activities that integrate culture, science popularization, fun, and interaction. At the same time, from October 6th to 8th, the museum will extend its opening hours to 9pm and open the Museum Wonderful Night, warmly inviting visitors from all over the country to a feast of ancient creatures that spans billions of years.
During the National Day and Mid Autumn Festival holiday, our school's Museum of Paleontology received nearly 40000 visitors and organized 6 science popularization activities such as immersive lectures, science popularization reports, and science popularization interactions, attracting more than a thousand visitors to participate. Among them, immersive explanations of Dinosaurs Flying towards the Blue Sky, Flying Dragons in the Sky, and Dinosaur Family Reunion lead viewers to travel through time and space to understand the stories behind fossils, vividly telling the research and speculation of scientists on the evolution of ancient organisms. In addition, three young PhDs from the museum presented three exciting science popularization reports to the audience - Undead Dinosaurs, Pterosaurs Flying towards the Blue Sky, and Time Capsules - The Past and Present of Fushun Amber, presenting research results from the forefront of scientific research in an easy to understand way, inspiring the audience, especially young viewers, to have a strong interest in natural science. During the nighttime opening hours, the museum specially launched the Dinosaur Fossil, I Love You science popularization interactive activity. Through the explanation of science popularization teachers and the hands-on practice of the audience, everyone can have a more intuitive understanding of the structure and habits of dinosaurs, which combines education with entertainment and has received unanimous praise from young audiences.
To cope with the sharp increase in the number of visitors during the festival, the museum has developed a scientific and reasonable reception plan and emergency response plan in advance, conducted a safety inspection of the entire museum, and trained on duty service personnel. It has also timely increased the number of on duty personnel for patrol, explanation, security, logistics and other positions to ensure the smooth operation of various activities in the museum.
Since its opening to the public in May 2011, our school's Museum of Paleontology has always adhered to the work philosophy of science at the forefront, science popularization serving the public for 14 years, continuously optimizing its service functions, bringing the most beautiful visiting experience to visitors with the most beautiful environment, the most exciting collections, the richest activities, and the most enthusiastic services. It has received nearly 4 million visitors and has become an important window and beautiful business card for our school and the Liaoning Provincial Department of Natural Resources to serve society. It has played an important role in enriching the leisure cultural life of the people of Liaoning and Shenyang and improving their scientific and cultural literacy. In the future, the museum will continue to uphold this purpose, continuously optimize exhibition content, innovate popular science activity forms, continuously improve service quality and audience experience, and strive to play the leading role of national popular science education bases, national scientific spirit education bases, natural resources and ecological civilization special topic Big Ideological and Political Course Practice Teaching Base and other platforms, contributing wisdom and strength to the comprehensive revitalization and development of Liaoning.
