The "Standards and Applications: Liaoning International Chinese Education Talent High Quality Training Forum" was held at our school
On October 10th, the Standards and Applications: High Quality Training Forum for International Chinese Education Talents in Liaoning Province sponsored by the International Chinese Education Cooperation Mechanism Project of the Chinese Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education, jointly organized by Shenyang Normal University, Liaoning University, and Liaoning Normal University, and co organized by the Liaoning Language Society, was held in the lecture hall on the third floor of the library. Our vice president Tong Yuping attended the seminar and delivered a speech. More than 100 experts, scholars, and student representatives from 15 universities across the country, including East China Normal University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing Normal University, Liaoning University, and Liaoning Normal University, participated in the forum to jointly explore the path and mechanism of high-quality training of international Chinese education talents. The opening ceremony was presided over by Wang Xin, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department.
In his speech, Tong Yuping reviewed the development process of the school's international Chinese education for 40 years, and introduced the achievements of the school in the construction of overseas Confucius Institutes and the cultivation of international Chinese education talents. She emphasized that this forum aims to deepen the understanding of the connotation of the International Professional Standards for Chinese Teachers, promote its organic connection with teacher development, curriculum design, and teaching practice, and respond to the trend of digital transformation and interdisciplinary integration, exploring new models for cultivating compound and innovative Chinese education talents. She looks forward to taking this forum as an opportunity to deepen cooperation among universities in Liaoning Province, build an open, shared, and collaborative training ecosystem, and gather consensus and strength for building a new pattern of regional coordinated development.
An Shanshan, Dean of the School of International Education at Liaoning University, and Cao Ru, Dean of the School of International Education at Liaoning Normal University, delivered speeches on behalf of the joint organizers, emphasizing the importance of international Chinese education standardization construction and calling for strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation to promote the high-quality development of Chinese education in Liaoning Province and even the whole country.
This forum consists of two parts: a keynote speech and a parallel forum. The keynote speech was chaired by Sun Fuguang, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the International Education Institute, and Hu Bo, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department. Professor Ding Anqi from East China Normal University systematically analyzed the core mechanism of teacher training in the promotion of the International Professional Standards for Chinese Teachers, pointed out the multidimensional challenges currently faced, and proposed a series of forward-looking and operable optimization strategies, providing important support for the professional development of the international Chinese teacher team. Professor Li Chunling from the Central University of Finance and Economics has conducted an in-depth interpretation of the International Professional Standards for Chinese Language Teachers, focusing on its 5 primary indicators and 16 secondary indicators, systematically explaining the content framework and application scope of the standards. Professor Li Baogui from Liaoning Normal University elaborated on the importance of building a regional and national Chinese education, proposed specific paths to promote the transformation of Chinese education from universal to regional and precise, and constructed a hierarchical and regional talent training system. Professor Kou Zhenfeng from Liaoning University systematically analyzed the compatibility and tension between the International Master's Program in Chinese Education and the International Professional Standards for Chinese Teachers. Based on the OBE concept and the International Professional Standards for Chinese Language Teachers, Professor Cui, a member of our board of directors, systematically elaborated on the plan and path to effectively connect the training of Chinese language international education professionals in local universities with industry demands.
Four parallel forums respectively conducted in-depth exchanges on Practical Application and Innovation of the International Professional Standards for Chinese Teachers, Exploration of Interdisciplinary Talent Training Mechanisms, Regional Cooperation and International Resource Sharing, and Other Issues Related to the Promotion and Application of the International Professional Standards for Chinese Teachers. More than 50 paper authors from 15 universities including Beijing Normal University, Nanjing Normal University, Northeast Normal University, Liaoning University, and Liaoning Normal University reported their research results, covering multiple hot topics such as AI enabled teaching, regional cultural integration, interdisciplinary collaboration, and national training.
The closing ceremony of the forum was presided over by Wang Rui, Vice Dean of the School of International Education. Professor Jin Xueli read out the list of outstanding papers, and Zhang Wei, Secretary General of the Liaoning Education International Exchange Association and Researcher of our School of International Education, summarized the forum.
This forum is not only a high-level academic exchange in the field of international Chinese education in Liaoning Province, but also an important platform to promote the implementation of the International Chinese Teacher Professional Competency Standards and innovate talent training models. The holding of the forum has injected new momentum and condensed new wisdom into the high-quality development of international Chinese education in Liaoning Province.
