Party Secretary Jiang Fengchun leads a delegation to visit two Central Asian countries
From September 22nd to 25th, Party Secretary Jiang Fengchun led a delegation to visit Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. This visit focuses on the coordinated development of education between China, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. Through a series of measures such as high-level talks, inter school signing, and project implementation, strategic cooperation agreements, inter school memoranda, and other documents were signed. The Uzbekistan Alumni Association, a key country for foreign aid training, was innovatively established, and the construction of the Mozi Workshop was upgraded and deepened, achieving multiple breakthrough results. Zhang Ye, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Lu Wei, Dean of the School of Education Sciences, Wang Xin, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and Li Xiaoyi, Commissioner for Central Asia Cooperation and Foreign Aid Training Projects, accompanied the visit.
During the visit, the delegation made its first stop at the Ministry of Preschool and Secondary Education of Uzbekistan. They held talks with Ezozkhon Karimova, Minister of Education, Doniyor Abdumutalov, Director of the Investment and Fund Coordination Department, Azimjon Abdulkhaev, Director of the International Relations Department, and others, focusing on three core directions: promoting international Chinese education, standardizing teacher training, and empowering educational innovation with artificial intelligence. They reached a deep cooperation consensus and clarified that they will rely on our school's disciplinary advantages to promote the development of international Chinese education in Uzbekistan, carry out joint teacher training, and build an educational digital cooperation platform, jointly contributing wisdom to the collaborative innovation of education between China and Uzbekistan. At the meeting, Jiang Fengchun, on behalf of the school, officially signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Minister Ezozkhon Karimova, marking a new stage of cooperation between our school and Uzbekistan's national education authorities from intention docking to institutionalized promotion, providing top-level policy support for subsequent inter school cooperation and project implementation.
During the visit to universities in Uzbekistan, the delegation visited three directly affiliated universities and institutions of the Ministry of Education, namely New Uzbekistan University, Uzbekistan State Pedagogical University, and Teacher Skills Development Institute, to promote cooperation from a framework consensus to a substantive implementation.
At the New Uzbekistan University, Jiang Fengchun and his delegation held consultations with the university's executive president Bahodir Ahmedov, vice president of foreign affairs Azizbek Marakhimov, and others regarding the establishment of overseas education and joint laboratory construction in Uzbekistan. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on the path of innovation and reform in higher education and the experience of international governance of universities. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Inter school Cooperation and a Student Exchange Agreement, clarifying the path for regular teacher-student visits and academic discussions. During the visit, our school also donated a series of Chinese cultural books to the school library and planted a Friendship Tree with the school, symbolizing the long-lasting cooperation between the two schools.
During the visit, our university held a grand ceremony at the New Uzbekistan University to establish the Uzbekistan Alumni Association, a key country for foreign aid training. Sun Changdong, the Education Consul of the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech, while Wang Xin presided over the ceremony. Jiang Fengchun, on behalf of the school, sent a message to the alumni association to become an emotional bond connecting the alma mater and Uzbekistan alumni, a development platform to help alumni grow, and a cooperation window to promote educational exchanges between China and Uzbekistan. He expressed sincere gratitude to alumni from all walks of life who have continuously cared for and supported the development and construction of our school over the years. On site, he appointed Bakhtiyor Yuldashev, a student of the 2025 Russian speaking Countries University Presidents' Decision Making Ability Training Class and the current Director of the Education Development and Quality Supervision Agency of the Uzbekistan Presidential Office (formerly the President of the New Uzbekistan University), as the first chairman of the alumni association, and Nilufar Ubaydullaeva, Deputy Director of the Tashkent Education Bureau (a student of the Developing Countries Kindergarten and Preschool Education Environment Training Class), and Ismail, Vice President of Tashkent Jan Bulanov（“ More than 10 key alumni representatives from Ukraine, including students from the Russian speaking countries' university presidents' training class and Mirkomil, director of the International Department of the University of World Economics and Diplomacy (students from the Outstanding Teachers Training Class for Developing Countries), presented commemorative gifts to Shen Shi alumni. The establishment of this alumni association not only consolidates the consensus of alumni, but also builds a long-term communication bridge for inter school cooperation, becoming a new milestone in Sino Ukrainian educational exchanges and achieving a breakthrough of zero in our school's overseas alumni association.
At Uzbekistan State Pedagogical University, Jiang Fengchun and his delegation held talks with the university's executive president Raxmanov Zafarjon Yashinovich, vice president of foreign affairs Kholmurodova Dilnoza Kholmurodovna, and vice president of scientific research Alisherov Farkhod Alisherovich. Jiang Fengchun systematically introduced our school's over 70 years of educational accumulation in the field of teacher education, especially in teacher training, curriculum development, and educational digitization. The two sides reached important consensus on jointly building Chinese majors, creating Chinese cultural experience centers, and promoting 2+2 joint education, and signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Inter school Cooperation and Student Exchange Agreement between the two schools. At the Teacher Skills Development Institute, the delegation exchanged ideas with the institution's president Ismailov Abduvali Abdumalikovich and others on the development paths and strategies of teacher skills training in Ukraine, focusing on sharing our school's experience in innovative application of artificial intelligence technology for teachers in the new era, providing practical reference for optimizing the teacher training system in Ukraine.
Secondly, establish a council mechanism for the Mozi Workshop to promote the transformation of overseas education from project implementation to quality improvement; Thirdly, based on the agricultural needs of Tajikistan, we will carry out Chinese+vocational skills training through the Mozi Workshop to serve the innovative development of modern agriculture in Central Asia. During this period, Jiang Fengchun and his delegation also had a cordial exchange with the first 20 students of the Tourism Agriculture major jointly offered by the two schools this year, inquiring about their course learning, Chinese language proficiency, and future career plans, encouraging everyone to work hard to improve their Chinese proficiency and become a sincere ambassador for the friendship between China and Tajikistan.
At the same time, the first Mozi Workshop Industry Education Integration Development Forum opened, and Jurazoda Jamshed, Deputy Governor of Sogdian, Tajikistan, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, affirming the exemplary role played by the Mozi Workshop in promoting the development of modern agriculture in Tajikistan. Jiang Fengchun emphasized in his speech that on the occasion of the first anniversary of the establishment of the Mozi Workshop, exploring the integration of industry and education is of great significance, which will lay the foundation for the promotion and upgrading of the Mozi Workshop in Central Asia. Zhang Yang, Dean of the School of Life Sciences at our university, and five representatives from teachers and students participated in the forum online and gave keynote speeches. Experts and scholars from Poland and Finland, as well as local universities and business representatives from Tajikistan, attended the forum to share their experience and wisdom on regional collaborative development of industry education integration.
Through the mode of high-level dialogue leading, intercollegiate cooperation landing, and project empowerment with long-term effect, this visit further broadened our international cooperation territory, practiced the China Central Asia spirit with practical actions, made positive contributions to serving the national the Belt and Road initiative, promoting high-quality development of education cooperation between China and Central Asia, and set a new benchmark for our school to create the characteristics of education opening to the outside world and deepen regional education coordination.
