To celebrate the 116th International Women’s Day, thoroughly implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, and unite and mobilize female faculty members, the forum titled “Striving for New Achievements at the Outset of the 15th Five-Year Plan” was held on March 6 in Conference Room 303 of the University Administration Building. The forum aimed to pool women’s wisdom and gather strength for high-quality development in the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Jiang Fengchun, Secretary of Party Committee and President Yang Song attended the forum, along with more than 20 outstanding female faculty representatives from the front line of teaching, research and administration. The forum was chaired by Vice President Shan Shouwei.
At the forum, Jiang Fengchun listened attentively to the representatives’ speeches and engaged in cordial exchanges with them. He spoke highly of the significant contributions made by female faculty members to the university’s development and fully affirmed their opinions and suggestions. Jiang emphasized that the Party Committee of SYNU has always attached great importance to the development of female talent, and will continue to optimize the policy environment, provide development platforms, and create more favorable conditions for their professional growth and success. The Secretary encouraged all female faculty to uphold the mission of fostering virtue through education, deepen teaching reforms, and consolidate the foundation of the university’s development in talent cultivation. In terms of scientific research, he urged them to break down disciplinary barriers and achieve more landmark results with more institutional innovation and pragmatic measures. As for management and services, he called for greater efficiency and more refined, people-oriented services to ensure the smooth operation of the university. Jiang expressed the hope that female faculty would fully play an exemplary and leading role, take the lead in their respective fields, and continue to contribute to the university’s high-quality development.
On behalf of the leadership team of SYNU, President Yang Song extended festive greetings and best wishes to all female faculty members. She fully affirmed their outstanding contributions to the university’s development, emphasizing that female faculty are an indispensable force in the university’s development and play an irreplaceable role in teaching, research, management, and services. She expressed hope that all female faculty members would align their personal development with the university’s overall goals and contribute to a new phase of the university’s high-quality development with their diligence and dedication.
During the discussion session, female faculty representatives spoke enthusiastically on topics including discipline development, talent cultivation, teaching reform, and the environment for female talent growth, in light of the “15th Five-Year Plan” and their own work practices. Representatives of teaching faculty shared their practices and explorations in integrating ideological and political education into curricula, revising training programs, and innovating teaching models; representatives of research faculty offered suggestions on interdisciplinary integration, research team building, and translating research findings into practice; representatives of administrative staff put forward constructive proposals on service support, management efficiency, and team building to create a more supportive environment for the development of female talent. The discussion was conducted in a warm and congenial atmosphere. The representatives spoke freely, offering valuable and insightful perspectives on the university’s development as well as sincere concerns and expectations for the growth of female faculty.
This forum has not only provided a platform for female faculty to exchange views and put forward suggestions, but also further inspired their enthusiasm and commitment to the university’s development. The representatives stated that they would translate the forum’s outcomes into concrete actions, embark on the new journey of the 15th Five-Year Plan with renewed vigor, and give full play to their potential in contributing to the university’s high-quality development.
